Welcome to Legacy Christian Academy

We hope you will take some time to get familiar with who we are and what we do here through our website. As you explore the various areas of our school, we think you will find a unique opportunity for young people to develop educationally as well as spiritually.

We’ve been given an assignment. It makes sense; after all, we are an educational institution. We deal with assignments all the time! The assignment comes from our parents, to be sure, who have contracted with us as partners in their children’s education. More importantly, however, we have been given an assignment by God…

We proclaim Him (Jesus), admonishing (warning) every man (student) and teaching every man (student)
with all wisdom, so that we may present every man (student) complete in Christ.
For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.
Colossians 1:28-29 (parenthesis mine)

That is our job… our objective. We are working to graduate young men and women who are COMPLETE in Christ! What does that actually mean? In order to answer that question, let me take you to another verse of Scripture. Jesus was asked by the Jewish scribes, what was the greatest commandment. His response provides us with the answer to our question.

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30

In that verse he identifies the four aspects of humanity that we at LEGACY strive to address… the heart, the soul, the mind and the body. We train and teach the:

Heart

 - in demonstrating to our students how to show the love of Christ to others. The examples of godly teachers who love and invest themselves in their students is one of our greatest strengths. In addition, we provide opportunities for our students to serve the people of our community as well as around the world, sharing the love of Jesus and developing a heart for others.

Soul

– regular Bible curricula, Bible verse memorization, weekly chapel meetings as well as a foundation of Biblical truth in every class we teach, is how we strategically address the needs of our student’s soul and how they develop a Biblical worldview. It is our greatest desire to see each one of our students have a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and a desire to use their gifts and talents in serving him.

Mind

– our rigorous academic curriculum and upper level dual credit opportunities effectively prepare our students for college and beyond. We want to make sure our graduates are able to discern truth in every area, to think critically and to impart that knowledge to others in a meaningful way. We strive to produce the best and brightest as they go out into the world beyond our doors, and as such, they are able to be a godly influence in the workplace, the marketplace and in every area of life.

Body

(Strength) – We encourage our students to get involved in areas that will build their bodies physically, as well as utilize the talents with which God has entrusted them. We offer numerous athletic options on various levels and we have a rich heritage of competition in our community. Additionally, we help our students who have gifts and talents in more artistic disciplines have outlets and learning opportunities to develop who they are as God’s creations and image bearers.

That is a description of a complete person. Our assignment is to teach that young person to be complete IN CHRIST. That is the thrust of everything we do. What is the end result of that assignment? That we have met our mission of Equipping Leaders for Christ.

After you have explored our website, we hope you will take the next step and come to visit us in person. We welcome your questions and would love to have the opportunity to meet you and show you around our beautiful campus. Perhaps our Welcome Wednesday would be a good option for your visit.
