Accreditation Visit

The visiting accreditation team voted to recommend Legacy to the Accreditation Commission for full accreditation for the next six years. That is the best possible outcome from an ACSI/Cognia Accreditation visit, and reason for celebration! ‘Thank you’ to the faculty, staff, administration, and board members who worked hard for the last year and a half to prepare for this accreditation visit, as well as the parents and students who met with the visiting team while they were here.

The visiting team identified four commendations and four action items from observations while they were on campus; reviewing documentation and evidence; and interviewing parents, students, teachers, administration, and the board.

Commendations from the Visiting Team:

  • The LCA School Board’s commitment to professional growth and excellence in its policies and responsibilities.
  • LCA’s Christ-like culture characterized by a compassionate, caring, and respectful environment, and a community focused on Equipping Leaders for Christ.
  • LCA’s high standards for church attendance as part of its mission.
  • LCA’s careful planning and diligent budgeting to achieve the position of being debt free, enabling the school to plan for student growth and support its personnel.

Accreditation Action Items from the Visiting Team:

  • Review the professional resources and assistance available to ensure the school’s ability to provide emotional support to students.
  • Practice learner-focused and technology-rich interactive strategies to foster student engagement.
  • Implement a systematic curriculum review process.
  • Prioritize biblical worldview integration, application, and Christ-like character formation in classroom instruction.

We celebrate the commendations given by the team, and we plan to evaluate the action items over the coming months.

2024-2025 Academic Catalog

2024-2025 Academic Catalogs have been distributed to students in grades 6-11.  Stapled inside the front cover is a letter highlighting changes in the secondary program as well as a course selection sheet. Course selections are due next Friday, March 1, to Mrs. Sparks in the main office. If you have questions or would like to meet with a guidance counselor, please email either David Bryant ( or Beth Shaeffer (  Also, please be looking for upcoming announcements about informational meetings for parents (students welcome too) of rising 7th and 9th graders.

Admissions News

Since Legacy uses continuous enrollment, we do not require families to complete a re-enrollment packet for each upcoming school year, and we do not charge a re-enrollment fee. As part of continuous enrollment, each student will remain enrolled until graduation or until we are notified that he or she will not return.  We hope all our students will return next year, but if your child(ren) will not attend LCA next year, you must notify the Admissions Office by February 29th of your plans to withdraw.  Families who notify us of withdrawal after this date are subject to a $1000 withdrawal fee per student. The withdrawal fee will be prorated based on percentage of full-time enrollment for partial withdrawals (changing enrollment status from full-time to part-time). Please contact the Admissions Office with any questions at

Elementary Logowear - Dress Code

As announced at the State of the School Address in January, Legacy is delaying the planned implementation of logowear in the elementary grades until August 2025. The primary concern with the transition to logowear expressed in this year’s parent survey was cost, so we are going to take an additional year before implementation so all families have sufficient time to financially prepare.

Lincoln Boiler Update

Thank you for your prayers for our boiler in the Lincoln building! As has been communicated prior, the boiler has a leak and needs to be replaced. However, since our discovery of its impending failure earlier this winter, the boiler has been running on low pressure and still effectively heating the building. Please continue to pray that the boiler stays operational until the end of the heating season so that we can replace it without needing to close school for an extended period of time.
