Opportunities to Meet the New Secondary Principal

Dear Legacy families,

Happy Thanksgiving week! I am thankful for you and the part you play in our school community.

"Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever!" (Psalm 107:1).

Last week I introduced Brian Fecher, our new Secondary Principal, to you in the Knightly News. This week, I want to outline a couple opportunities you will have to get to know him before he officially starts at Legacy in January. First, on December 6, 2022, Mr. Fecher will be speaking in secondary Chapel. Parents are always welcome to join us for chapel (just bring an ID and check-in in the chapel foyer). So, if you are available on the 6th, please come and meet Mr. Fecher after he shares with the secondary students in chapel. Secondary Chapel begins just after 9:20am on Tuesdays, though you may come at 8:45am for coffee in the cafeteria first. Second, Mr. Fecher will be available to meet parents and students at 6:00pm on December 10 before the JH/HS Christmas Concert at 7:00pm. This will be an informal gathering without a formal presentation, followed by the Christmas Concert. Come out and meet Mr. Fecher, and then enjoy the talents of our Band, Choir, and Strings students!

Ohio’s Scholarship Donation Tax Credit

We've passed the $10,000 mark! Please join those who have already given with a gift to LEAF before the year ends. When you donate an amount that meets the tax credit requirement to LEAF, it literally costs you nothing!

What costs you nothing more than time can mean everything to a family struggling to send their kids to Legacy Christian Academy. Imagine the impact of your donation as our mission of "Equipping Leaders for Christ" is fulfilled in young lives!

Details: Individual taxpayers can claim a tax credit for donations to a scholarship granting organization (SGO). The credit (against state taxes) is equal to the lesser of $750 or the annual amount donated. For couples filing jointly, the tax credit is (up to) $1500, if each makes a donation to an SGO in their own name.

Legacy Education Affordability Fund (LEAF) is 501c3 that is an approved SGO in the state of Ohio and is a separate entity from Legacy Christian Academy. LEAF exists to accept donations and distribute scholarships to students enrolled at Legacy Christian Academy.

You can find more information on our website here, or reach out to Brian Ray at

School Closure Announcements and Procedures

In the event of school closure, Legacy will email and text parents as soon as a decision to close or delay school has been made. In such an event, we also alert news stations who publicize our cancellation/delay on their website and broadcast, but the email/text to parents usually arrives sooner. We know that many families travel a significant distance to Legacy every day, so we seek to make any decision to close/delay as early as possible.
