OHIO SGO SCHOLARSHIPS
HOW TO APPLY FOR AN OCEN SGO SCHOLARSHIP:
The Ohio Christian Education Network (OCEN) SGO, a 501(c)3 Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO), awards scholarships to Legacy Christian Academy students. All students enrolled in Legacy Christian Academy are eligible to apply for a scholarship. Award amounts vary, and scholarship awards are prioritized for students from low-income households. To apply for an OCEN SGO scholarship, please visit the OCEN SGO's secure portal. Click on Apply Now near the bottom of the page to sign-in or create an account, and then follow the instructions. Be sure to select Legacy Christian Academy - Xenia from the drop-down menu of schools on the OCEN SGO scholarship application.
Notes: (1) Families who have given financially to the OCEN SGO are also eligible to apply for an OCEN SGO scholarship. However, they must create two separate accounts, one for participating in the program as a donor and one for applying for an OCEN scholarship (using two different email addresses). (2) All Legacy families who pay Ohio income taxes are encouraged to participate in the OCEN SGO program – at no net cost – to direct some of the taxes they pay anyway to financial aid for Legacy Christian Academy students. Click here to learn more! Legacy Christian Academy applies 100% of funds received through the OCEN SGO to financial aid.
HOW TO APPLY for a LEAF Scholarship:
The Legacy Education Affordability Fund (LEAF) provides need-based financial aid to families whose children are enrolled at Legacy Christian Academy. LCA families may apply for a LEAF scholarship by contacting the LEAF board at their email address, leaf1sgo@gmail.com, to request instructions.
Note: Since the 2025 tax year, Legacy Christian Academy recommends that donors contribute to the OCEN SGO rather than the LEAF SGO. However, both organizations offer scholarships for LCA students, and LCA families may apply for scholarships from both organizations.
JON PETERSON SPECIAL NEEDS (JPSN) SCHOLARSHIPS
LCA is a provider for the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Jon Peterson Special Needs (JPSN) Scholarship program that allocates scholarships to students who are eligible to attend kindergarten through 12th grade and have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) from their district.
The amount of each JPSN scholarship will be based on the primary disability condition identified on the student's Evaluation Team Report (ETR) and will not exceed limits prescribed by the ODE. Students must be enrolled in the JPSN scholarship program for the entire year to receive the full scholarship amount.
More information on this Ohio scholarship program can be found here.
ADDITIONAL LCA FINANCIAL AID
Legacy families with financial need who have exhausted other scholarship opportunities for which they are eligible may apply for additional financial aid. Additional financial aid is not guaranteed, and EdChoice and SGO scholarship awards for which a Legacy student is eligible must be received by Legacy before additional financial aid is considered. Completion of the FACTS Grant and Aid Application through the FACTS Family Portal/Financial is required for consideration of additional financial aid. FACTS charges an application fee to process the application. The FACTS Grant and Aid Application opens on May 15 for the following school year. Please contact Jill McClain at jmcclain@legacyknights.org or 937-352-1660 for additional information.
Non-Discrimination Policy: Legacy Christian Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in admissions policies, financial aid, athletic and other school-administered programs. Legacy Christian Academy reserves the right to select students on the basis of academic performance, religious commitment, lifestyle choices, and personal qualifications including a willingness to cooperate with Legacy Christian Academy administration and to abide by its policies.
