IT Administrator, Full-time
The IT Administrator coordinates with the administration to plan, implement, and maintain all aspects of LCA’s technology infrastructure and deployment. The IT Administrator is the main point of contact for all teacher and student technology support and should excel at customer service with prompt and personable responses. The IT Administrator works with school leadership on strategic planning, future development, and implementation of new technologies.
Legacy Christian Academy, founded in 1967 as Xenia Christian Day School, is a private, college-preparatory, non-denominational PreK-12 school that seeks to equip leaders for Christ. Students meet admissions standards both academically and spiritually. LCA’s 450 students come from a 5-county area. LCA is located on the historic site of the Ohio Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Orphan’s Home and facilities include four buildings: two academic buildings, a gymnasium, and a 750-seat auditorium. LCA also uses athletic fields located on the Athletes in Action campus, located within walking distance from the school. LCA is fully committed to maintaining an ethnically/culturally diverse faculty and student body within a biblical community.
Position Requirements:

  • Excellent people skills, with the ability to patiently work and communicate with people of all levels of technology experience
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of computer and printer hardware, including troubleshooting and repair
  • Experience networking PC/MACs using Windows or other Network Operating Systems
  • Thorough and current knowledge of Windows OS (PCs), Office 365, and Chrome OS (Chromebooks)
  • Able to support a building-wide wireless network capable of supporting 1000 devices
  • Able to instruct and supervise summer IT workers
  • Ability to develop and carry out policies and procedures to ensure safety of all users in the use of all technology
  • Able to implement backup, disaster recovery, virus protection, and security for the protection of hardware and data
  • Able to identify failing systems and suggest solutions in line with current budget
  • Knowledgeable and able to maintain compliance with all government regulations regarding technology and licensing, both in general and specific to a K-12 school environment
  • Ability to modify and make ongoing updates to the website and maintain plug-ins
  • Capability to create forms (typeform), perform calendar maintenance, and marketing functions on website
  • Web analytics and HTML knowledge
  • Ability to troubleshoot website problems
  • Price negotiation skills to attain the best pricing for equipment and services
  • Ability to keep school technology current and moving forward with new developments
  • Able to develop annual and multi-year budgets for a vibrant technology program
  • Able to lift and handle technology equipment, including installation and repair of same
  • Associate degree possible, bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Obtain an ODE issued certificate to work in an Ohio nonpublic school prior to employment
Ideal Qualifications:
  • 5 or more years of experience in a school IT environment
  • Master's degree in educational technology or a related field
  • K-12 classroom experience as an educator
  • Experience training elementary and secondary faculty in innovatively and appropriately bringing technology into the classroom to amplify and accelerate student learning
  • Familiarity with Windows Active Directory framework
  • Familiarity with Google Administrative Console
  • Familiarity with FACTS SIS (RenWeb)
  • Familiarity with Synology camera system
  • Familiarity with AiPhone Door Access and Control system
  • Works comfortably across social media platforms
  • Ability and interest in involvement in the LCA co-curricular program (related experience preferred)
