What do you love about XCS?

I love the family atmosphere on a beautiful campus.

Why do you like teaching at XCS?

I like teaching at XCS because student’s minds are impressionable, I take very seriously my opportunity and responsibility to influence students, I hope that after being in my classroom they have a greater understanding of God and of His amazing creation.

What motivated you to become a teacher at XCS?

God brought me here 28 years ago when someone on the school board asked me to consider teaching at XC and I guess it’s too much work to pack up and move anywhere else. :)

How do you teach a biblical worldview?

I hope and believe that the students catch Jesus from me by the way that I pray, by the way that I manage my classroom, by the way that I deal with discipline, and by the way that we discover awesome things in our world that reflect an awesome Creator.

What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?

No farmers, no food. Know farmers, know food.

What sets XCS students apart from students in other schools?

XC students have teachers who care for them as individuals; we want students to have success academically and to develop skills and godly character and so we do what we can to help each student to achieve their God-given potential.

How do you teach to the mission of XCS?

God has given parents the responsibility to educate their children. It is a great privilege to have parents entrust me with their children. As a parent of four XC alums, I greatly appreciated XC teachers who supported me in the education of my own children.

What do you want your students to gain from having known you?

To be quality disciples of Jesus as they follow him with all their heart!
