What do you love about LCA?
Our great students and teachers.

What do you like teaching at LCA?
Of all the things that I've taught over the years, math is one of my favorites. Beyond teaching, I love my role as guidance counselor.

What motivated you to become a teacher at LCA?
I started working at Dayton Christian over 20 years ago, and have transitioned to Xenia Christian, and now to LCA.

How do you teach a biblical worldview?
By sharing God's Word whenever I have the opportunity, and trying to model His grace and love as I interact and develop relationships with students.

What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom?
Various life experiences, such as being a Jewish believer in Christ, and travel all over the U.S. I love to share the ways that I've seen God working in my life over the years.

What sets LCA students apart from students from other schools?
Our classes seem to grow and mature as a group and become a family.

How do you teach the mission of LCA?
By supporting the family and church in encouraging our students to become more like Jesus. I think this is best done in developing great relationships with our students, pointing them in the right direction.

What do you admire most in a student?
Someone who knows when to be serious, and how to have positive natured fun. A good sense of humor is important.

What do you love about LCA?
I love the spirit of the students, their energy, and the fun they have. I love hanging out with high school kids. I love that we are all about living a Christ-filled life; that is most important to us.

Why do you like teaching at LCA?
Because I can integrate Christianity, be myself, and try new things. I love that most students care about learning, my husband is the leader, and it is a beautiful campus.

What motivated you to become a teacher at LCA?
It was a strong Christian school in town and my family was already involved in it.

How do you teach a biblical worldview?
By sharing how God is the Creator and he uses math as a language. Also, by sharing my struggles and trials with God, and talking a lot about how important Christianity is in everything we do.

What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
I am passionate about math. I have lived life in lots of different Christian schools and I have raised 4 sons and been on lots of missions trips. I also understand what colleges want, so I can help students be aware of the demands that colleges have and how to meet them.

What do you love about LCA?
Being here to see my girls and experiencing Christian education. It's not perfect, but it's definitely wonderful.

Why do you like being a staff member at LCA?
I love that the students come and talk to me. They stop by and say, "Hey, Mrs. Howell. Got a minute?"

What motivated you to be a staff member here?
I don't really know if it was as much motivation as it was God's direction, because this is my first job since I left the military nine years ago.

How do you work from a Biblical worldview?
I'm there for the students. You know how people say you can teach people about Jesus or you can show someone Jesus just by being there.

What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to the school to help shape the learning experience at the school?
I talk. I'm a big talker.

What sets LCA students apart from students of another school?
They are all around good kids. You know, you've got your everyday kid stuff but just all around good kids.

How do you go about working through the mission of LCA?
I support the administrators carrying out the day to day.

What do you want the students to gain from having known you?
To know that somebody is always there, even if they seem unlikely.
